| Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who played the role of Ser Jaime Lannister in the seasonal Game of Thrones is reportedly suing his ex-manager over what he calls a ‘sham deal’. |
The 47-year-old actor who plays Jaime Lannister on the hit HBO show has
claimed he was "tricked" into signing a deal that paid his former
manager Jill Littman 10 per cent commission on his earnings after he was no
longer signed to her agency, Impression Entertainment.
According to the documents obtained by editors at TMZ, the Game of
Throne's actor did not want anything more than a verbal agreement but Littman
had insisted it was mandatory for him to sign a contract to enable the agency
to file the paperwork for his work visa.
The Danish native, who was unable to work without being sponsored, had
reportedly signed the initial contract in 2011 and a further deal in 2014,
because he believed these contracts were integral to the visa process.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nikolaj alleges Littman
"fraudulently" used "sham documents" in the hope of
continuing to collect the percentage of his earnings, even after Nikolaj parted
ways with Impression Entertainment.
Responding to the claims, Littman's lawyer Howard King said the agent
was "disappointed" that the actor had gone back on their verbal
agreement when the contract was terminated in 2014.
Littman was also "unhappy" that Nikolaj had publicised their
disagreement.
She insisted that Nikolaj had verbally agreed to pay her 10 per cent
commission during his time on Game of Thrones but had stopped payments after
their working relationship was dissolved.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Danish actor has since
requested a temporary restraining order to block Impression Entertainment from
attempting to start an arbitration process; due to the allegedly
"fraudulent" manner the contracts were obtained.
